The 10 best character designs in Disney Twisted Wonderland

So many pretty boys.

Disney Twisted-Wonderland is a very different take on the world of Disney than most other games offer. In Twisted Wonderland, you attend Night Raven College, an all-boys magic academy. Within this universe, there are many handsome young men inspired by Disney’s villains for you to get to know.

You may be wondering: out of everyone the game has to offer, which are the best looking? We took a close look at the entire cast: main characters and side characters, Night Raven College students and staff alike, and handpicked ten characters that we feel outshine the rest. Here are the 10 best character designs in Disney Twisted-Wonderland.

9 & 10. Floyd & Jade Leech

Dorm: Octavinelle

Based on: Flotsam and Jetsam from The Little Mermaid

Our ninth and tenth pick are a two-in-one. From The Little Mermaid universe, Floyd and Jade Leech are twin brothers inspired by Flotsam and Jetsam, Ursula's moray eels. From their eyes to their hair color, they are a clever nod to the beta villains that really stand out when placed together. That said, they also both stand out as their own characters individually too.

8. Jamil Viper

Dorm: Scarabia

Based on: Jafar from Aladdin

Jamil Viper is inspired from the Aladdin universe, and more specifically by Jafar. His long hair, modern clothing, and androgynous appearance, though, far separate him from the original bearded advisor. He is more of a nod to the source material, rather than a spitting image of it, and it suits him very well.

7. Malleus Draconia

Dorm: Diasomnia

Based on: Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty

Maleficent is one of the most iconic villains of all time, and Malleus Draconia is an impeccable tribute to her Disney 1959 design from Sleeping Beauty. Malleus has elven looking ears, but it's the horns and the black, green, and purple color scheme that really steal the show here. If you ever wondered what would Maleficent look like as a probably immortal vampire-esque boy? you now have your answer.

6. Jack Howl

Dorm: Savanaclaw

Based on: N/A

What kind of list would this be if we didn't include at least one white-haired anime boy? Jack Howl is the only character on the list that isn't directly based on a specific piece of Disney character or media, even though he is a part of The Lion King-inspired dorm. He is a white wolf, and just a completely original creation. The daring route of originality in a game of inspirations was bold and risky, but it paid off in this awesome design.

5. Alchemi Alchemivich “Che’nya” Pinka

School: Royal Sword Academy

Based on: The Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland

Coming in at number 5, Alchemi Alchemivich Pinka (aka Che'nya) is the only character on this list that is not a member of Night Raven College. He is instead part of their rival school, Royal Sword Academy. Che'nya is a beautiful personification of the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, and is just the cutest little catboy with little pierced ears and a fluffy tail. Even though he just is a side character, we love him. You know like 'nya' :3c?

4. Sam

Job: Mr. S's Mystery Shop owner

Based on: Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog

Sam is the singular Night Raven College staff member to make the list, and for good reason. Out of the entire cast, Sam is perhaps the truest to their muse. Sam is based on Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog, and this look does him so well. From the cute hat, to the bone motifs: he's dressed amazing and it makes a lasting impression. Those gorgeous pink made-up eyes are a showstopper too: just a stunning character, through and through.

3. Lilia Vanrouge

Dorm: Diasomnia

Based on: Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty

Femininity. Edgy Fashion. Possibly over 500 years old. That is about what you get with Lilia Vanrouge. Lilia, like Malleus, is inspired by the villainy within Sleeping Beauty, but perhaps most by Maleficent's dragon form (or just simply her vibes). Lilia looks like he has one foot in his war boots, and the other on the runway. He is completely out there in terms of his appearance, maybe even the most so among the students. And the pink in the hair? To dye for. He definitely caught our attention and kept it.

2. Idia Shroud

Dorm: Ignihyde

Based on: Hades from Hercules

This man is so hot. No, like, literally, his hair is made of blue fire. Inspired by Disney's iconic interpretation of the Greek god Hades, Idia Shroud in Night Raven College's resident brooding emo boy. We love a quality pretty sad boy, and Idia really takes the cake for this in the Twisted Wonerland universe. His color palette is true to the source, but it's woven nicely into a unique outfit design. And his fire hair is just so cool... or hot. Idia is definitely a fan-favorite, and has well-earned his number two spot.

1. Leona Kingscholar

Dorm: Savanaclaw

Based on: Scar from The Lion King

Leona. Fricking. Kingscholar. What. You want an explanation of him and his background? Sorry, we're too busy admiring his everything. Okay, jokes aside, this man is why I downloaded the game. Inspired by Scar from The Lion King, Leona is honestly just the ideal character design. From his lion ears, to his rebel jacket vest. From his toned arms to his cocky smile. From his braided hair, to his low-cut shirt. Leona is everything we love in a character. He can dance circles around most of the cast in terms of appearance. Catboy? Lionboy? Whatever you want to call him, he is perfection. Or should we say… purrfection. 10/10. Landslide victory. All of the electoral votes go to Leona Kingscholar.
