Before you can unlock her, you’ll have to defeat all the flying skeletal minions that spawn. Beware, as these have an impressive pool of health, so make sure you’ve unlocked a few levels before you head to the Coffin.

Once unlocked, you can purchase Giovanna from the character select screen. Her starting weapon is the Gatti Amari, a summoned cat that dashes around the screen, perhaps attacking enemies, and sometimes attacking the player as well!

Besides an unreliable cat as a companion, Giovanna Grana gains +1% projectile speed, per level, with no cap. This makes her synergize incredibly well with the Runetracer, and bone and dagger weapons. She also has +20% movement speed, probably owing to the broom she’s riding!
