When is Cross Faction play coming to WoW?

For Azeroth!

For nearly two decades, the Horde and Alliance stood in staunch opposition to one another and only came together when a greater threat faced Azeroth. That's about to change. Cross Faction play is set to come to World of Warcraft in Patch 9.2.5. There isn't a hard release date for the patch at this time, but it was announced on January 21, 2022, and is currently on the PTR.

What is Cross Faction play in WoW?

Cross Faction allows players from the Alliance and Horde to party with one another. Up until the release of this patch, players have been divided by these faction lines. But now, players will be able to party with opposing faction members for select activities like dungeons, Communities, Mythic dungeons, raids, and rated arena/BGs.

This means that no matter what the preferred faction, friends and family can finally play what they want with who they want. It's something the community has been asking for over the past several years, and finally, Blizzard is caving. Rejoice!
