Best Resonators in Wuthering Waves
Don't know who to use your Astrites and free summons for? If any of these resonators are an option in the current banner, always get them!
Rover (Havoc)
Once you've defeated Crownless after Huanglong Act 6, Rover now gains a Havoc form. Rover (Havoc) is a unit we never remove from our lineup if we can—and they're a free-to-play, free-to-upgrade resonator.
Havoc Rover lets you enhance ALL their attacks by long pressing the basic attack button when their Forte Gauge is full, allowing them to clear most enemies very quickly. Plus, they're naturally fast, allowing you to fill that bar fairly quickly.
Jiyan
Jiyan is the current AoE (area of effect) DMG king. When you use his Ultimate, he summons a dragon that traps enemies in its Tornado, dealing damage until his forte gauge is depleted. You can move Jiyan while the Dragon is present, allowing you to scoop up Echoes. He's an invaluable unit in Tower of Adversary!
When built correctly and used at the right moment, you can charge his Liberation attack fairly quickly.
Yinlin
In terms of pure damage potential, Yinlin easily tops our charts. What she does is inflict debuffs (called Sinner's Mark) with her normal attack/ultimate/intro skill, and all her attacks will hit all enemies with those on. As such, the key to fully utilizing her kit is to make sure all enemies are Marked using her AoE Intro skill.
It's a bit of a hassle, but we really must emphasize that the damage output is worth it. Plus, you don't need to move in close for a parry or dodge.
Calcharo
Calcharo is arguably the strongest single-target DPS resonator in the game. He has a fun playstyle because of his time-stop attacks, which allow you to hack at his enemies without needing to parry or dodge. Calcharo heavily relies on using his Resonance Liberation early to deal damage quickly, so always equip him with Echoes that can recharge his energy quickly.
Verina
Verina is the ultimate support in Wuthering Waves, at least for now. She increases allies' damage and provides invaluable healing. In fact, Verina's Intro/Outro skill heals the resonator she swaps with. Additionally, she can use her whole kit in just two seconds and fill up the Forte gauge to activate the next character's intro skills.
Encore
Encore's DMG potential certainly feels lacking when compared to, let's say, Yinlin, but she's one of the easiest characters to play in Wuthering Waves, bumping up her usage for us by several levels. All you need to do is cast her Ultimate/Resonance Liberation and pummel all your enemies into fiery oblivion with charged attacks. In that sense, she's very similar to Havoc Rover in terms of playstyle. The only exception is that you're allowed to Swap Cancel with her, meaning you can have Encore throw an attack, swap to another character without said attack canceling to deal extra damage, and swap back to Encore.
Since she uses a Rectifier instead of a sword, her attacks also have more range, which is why many players default to her as their main DPS.
Danjin
Danjin is a glass-cannon type of DPS character who heavily relies on managing her health and the Forte gauge. She consumes her health to cast her resonance skills, so you may easily kill her in seconds if you're not careful. Still, players who are comfortable with ARPGs will have an absolute blast with her. Play Havoc Rover if you want it safe but Danjin for the mixmaxed DMG output.
Mortefi
Wuthering Waves forces you to use a pistol character at times. If you absolutely don't know who to invest in, Mortefi is your guy. Mortefi is arguably the best 4-star sub-DPS in Wuthering Waves. His outro and Resonance Liberation buff the next character's Heavy Attack and enable joint attacks for a certain amount of time. Just don't use him as your main damage dealer.
