Best Minecraft Adventure Maps
Take yourself on a new adventure with these eight Minecraft adventure maps. The maps with trailers have them provided, while those without have screenshots from the game.
The Anomaly Part 1
The Anomaly Part 1: Download Page
Version: 1.20.4
One of the best parts of detailed Minecraft adventure maps is when they have great NPC dialogue and interactions. Woven has done this really well in the Anomaly. They use villagers as NPCs, using custom pathing and dialogue to make it feel as if you are truly interacting with the characters. The story of The Anomaly is as interesting as the NPCs are well-designed. You play Professor Ironmonger, a retired scientist who has returned to the laboratory to deal with a strange anomaly. It's up to you to learn about the Anomaly and make sure you and your colleagues make it home safely.
Pixelmon Hoenn
Pixelmon Hoenn: Download here (needs CurseForge)
Version: 1.20.2
Pixelmon is already a popular way to play Minecraft. Jond takes it to the next level with his recreation of the map of Hoenn from the Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby 3DS games! When combined with the 1.20.2 Pixelmon mod, it feels exactly like playing the old games. You'll begin by leaving your home, choosing your starter, and rescuing Professor Birch. Afterward, work hard to catch new Pixelmon and train your team to reach new heights.
Dark Dreams: Rewoken
Dark Dreams Reworken: Download Page
Version: 1.21.1, 1.20.1
Caley19's Dark Dreams: Rewoken challenges players to escape the Dark Dungeon. While the dungeon is on the spookier side, I consider it to be more of a thriller than a horror map. You'll need to examine the areas of the dungeon carefully while hunting for clues and puzzles to solve. It will challenge your puzzle-solving and finding skills, making it a nice mix of an adventure map and a puzzle map.
Adventures of Stink
Adventure of Stink: Download Page
Version: 1.21.1, 1.20.1
The Adventures of Stink Map provides an Ocarina of Time-inspired adventure for Minecraft players. It was created over the course of three years by Dandalf and is fully complete. Players start in a small woodsy village where they complete easy tasks to earn Rubels. These can be used to buy gear that helps you progress beyond the village. In addition to outlined quests, there are barrels hidden throughout the land filled with secret goods to make your adventure easier. If you're like me and waiting impatiently for the Echoes of Wisdom release, this adventure will make the wait a little easier.
Delta 2160
Delta 2160: Download Page
Version: 1.20.1
The LGSC Team's Delta 2160 is a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk world where you must survive in any way possible based on your chosen role. You can become a scavenger, doing grunt work for others, a solo mercenary, or a spy for one of the city's mega-corporations. The texture pack had a charming steampunk vibe, and I found the game easy to hop into. What was especially helpful were the electronic compasses given to players to guide them to quests and their home. They helped me stay on the path during the story when I definitely would have gotten lost otherwise.
Elden Lands: Conquest Edition
Eldan Lands Conquest Edition: Download Page
Version: 1.19.2
Fans of games like Elden Ring and Dark Souls will enjoy this Minecraft version. The resource packs used make the game look more realistic, adding to Eldan Land's Soulslike aesthetic. Like Delta 2160, this map was created by the LGSC Team. It uses the same method of communicating with NPC villagers, lighting up areas, and quest guides as Delta 2160. I found it to be pretty immersive with the entry levels feeling like something out of Skyrim. I did find the quests a little more difficult to find and complete than in Delta, but I think that makes sense considering the difficulty of similar games.
Temple of the Art
Temple of the Art: Download Page
Version: 1.19.2
Temple of the Art is essentially a Minecraft dungeon crawler created by PeteAleha. You play as a mage going through 20 waves of various enemies, using the spells and wand at your disposal to take them all out. There are hundreds of spells to choose from randomly, plus a wide variety of custom mobs to fight. Like any roguelike game, you return to the game's home area after dying before starting from the beginning. To make the game even more interesting, some NPCs can be rescued throughout the run. There are also plenty of secrets to uncover while fighting through hordes of enemies. It is definitely my favorite of the adventure maps on this list.
Nasi Goreng
Nasi Goreng: Download Page
Version: 1.21.1, 1.20.1
ItsZacky's Nasi Goreng simulator has players running a fried rice restaurant right in Minecraft. Players must juggle paying employee wages, cooking the fried rice, buying ingredients and furniture, and generally keeping the restaurant going while taking care of their health. Start by setting up the first table and chair in your restaurant and cooking up plates of fried rice. Explore the streets of the town from your apartment to Ikae and build an epic fried rice empire!
